European Seminar on "Participation of Young People in Youth Information Work",
20 - 23 April 2006, Vienna

The seminar is being planned as an "expert seminar", involving professionals drawn from the 3 organisations. It will bring together around 60 participants, all of whom will be invited on the basis of their experience in working on initiatives and projects which involve young people directly in youth information work. A group of young people involved in youth information projects in different countries will hold a meeting at the same time in the same venue so that dialogue and interaction between the two groups will be an integrated part of the programme.

The aims of this seminar are to present and make more visible the work already being done to develop the participation of young people in different aspects of youth information work, to define the opportunities and limits of such youth participation, and to make proposals for further work in this area. A large part of the discussion during the seminar will be based on presentations of methods and experience relating to youth participation from various countries or organised by one of the 3 organisations.

This Seminar is organised by the three networks and jugendinfo.cc, and it is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Social Security, Generations and Consumer Protection, by the European Commission and the Council of Europe.
